Scripture Memory
CFCF is excited to offer a fun
and challenging Scripture Memory Program that encourages kids to
spend time learning God's Word. Throughout the year, kids and
parents can move through the program at their own pace, working
toward the goal of learning all 55 memory verses and earning
attractive, original, collectable "verse cards" along the way.
Here's a little more about how the program works...
-
Each child
begins with a
Memory Verse Booklet containing all 55 verses to be
memorized.
-
This is a
progressive, systematic program; difficulty increases with each
level. Therefore, verses should be memorized in order.
-
Each time a verse is
quoted (including its scripture reference), the child will receive a
corresponding verse card (click
here for sample cards). Note that all verses must be quoted
word for word.
-
Children will be given a
plastic card sleeve to collect and protect their cards. The
sleeves are provided at no cost.
-
A three-ring binder is
necessary for holding the protective sleeves--parents may choose to
purchase a binder on their own or purchase one from the church for $1
(while supplies last).
-
There is no initial cost for
verse cards; however, if a card is lost there will be a $1 charge to replace
it.
-
Verse can be quoted during
either the Sunday School or Jr. Church hours on Sunday mornings.
-
Children are expected to work on
their verses at home, and parental support is greatly encouraged. (Why not
have the whole family work on learning a verse together and then celebrate by
going out for ice cream?)
-
Children can learn at their own
pace (there is no time limit for completing the program).
-
Each year, children who have
completed all 55 verses will be publicly recognized in a Sunday-morning service
(in May).
